The arrest was carried out by the Gender Unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, according to a statement by the command's spokesperson, Ayeni Olasunkanmi.
The suspects were apprehended at their home in Ile Oniponmo, Ayelabowo, in Oko-olowo, Ilorin, the state capital.
According to reports, the suspects claimed that the victim was beaten because she stole the sum of N2,000.
The Kwara State NSCDC commandant, Muhammed Tukur Ibrahim, has urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any criminal acts or security threats in their communities.
He also reassured the state of the command's preparedness to respond to any security challenges.
The NSCDC spokesman stated that the two suspects will be taken to court to face the consequences of their actions.
